Hyundai’s Holographic Windshield Display Steals CES 2026 Show

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas may not have seen the usual influx of new electric vehicles, thanks to the Trump administration’s removal of EV incentives. However, Hyundai has more than made up for it with its innovative in-cabin car tech on display.

Hyundai’s Holographic Windshield Display

The South Korean automaker’s Mobis subsidiary will showcase “more than 30 mobility convergence technologies” during CES, including the world’s first system to utilize holographic film to transform the entire front windshield into an ultra-large display surface. This next-generation heads-up display project key data from the vehicle’s dash onto the windshield for less distraction and without obstructing the driver’s view.

The Holographic Windshield Display is a vertically expandable 18.1-inch large display, allowing passengers to watch videos without being visible to the driver. Hyundai has collaborated with German optics specialist Zeiss to develop this technology, which is expected to begin mass production in 2029.

Hyundai’s AI Robotics Strategy

In addition to its Holographic Windshield Display, Hyundai will also showcase its AI Robotics Strategy at CES. The company will present its new Atlas robot, fresh out of the lab, which resembles a dog-like robot. This next-generation Atlas represents a tangible step toward the commercialization of AI robotics, highlighting the Group’s commitment to building safe and adaptable robotic co-workers.

Hyundai acquired Boston Dynamics in 2020, paving the way for this innovative development. The company will also discuss its other tech areas, including electronics and chassis system safety, as well as an AR head-up display, low-power display solutions, and EV drive systems.
